A Study on Parent Satisfaction of Therapeutic and Psychological Counseling Support Service in Special Education Support Center

Abstract

|
Objective: The purpose of this study was to provide parent’s satisfaction of therapeutic and psychological counseling support service in special education support center.
Methods: The research was conducted for the parents attending therapeutic and psychological counseling support service of special education support center. The analysis was based on telephone counsel in the research period from 2012 to 2013 through the first and second half year (100 persons in the first and second half year respectively, 142 persons in the first half of 2013, and 124 persons in the second half of 2013).
Results: The overall satisfaction for the content of therapeutic and psychological counseling support service was higher in period of 2012 through the first and second half year and in the first half of 2013. The satisfaction related support system was higher in the second half of 2013. The parent satisfaction rate of second half year was significantly higher than the first half year during 2012- 2013.
Conslusions: Based on these results, this study suggests that therapeutic and psychological counseling support service supported from special education support center should be modified to provide effective system. In addition, efficient therapeutic and psychological counseling support service system should be established to improve parent’s satisfaction through professionalism of therapist and psychologist.
